Pekan 5-6 Sept 2007: PELAREEF Charter - Pekan Sailfish

This is very sudden, unplanned decision. On the 1st Sept i was informed to get ready to escort our FIRST Pelareef Charter customer. So me and alfi got together and plan what the next move. We get in touch with oor Tekong Azhar MJ, asking the available date. Azhar said the ONLY date is 5-6 Sept. So we booked the date. Together with alfi & hasran are our Platinum Premier client, consist of Nasir, Nizam & Azrol. The target is SAILFISH.  Weather was excellent on the 5th but a little bit rough on the 6th morning.  Within this 2 days, we landed 14 sailfish with countless hookups, snapped lines, hooks auto-dislodge during fight & boatside etc.

Got this reel from Sykt Kepong. Been eying this reel for very long time.  Gonna match 4500H with my Shimano Caranx Kaibutsu LC.  Haven't decide what poundage and line type to use.  Probably Jigman 8X PE4 or Tufline 50lb or Ultra Jigman PE4.

Let me introduce to our long long time best friend TEKONG/BOATMAN.  

We called him Azhar MJ.

He's one of the boatman that knows Malaysian waters like the back of his hands i.e. from Tioman Island upto Dungun and to the East until Jemaja Island of Indonesia.

We normally called him or he called us during Diamond Trevally season, Coral Trout season and Spanish Mackerel season in Pekan, Pahang.  He can bring you to a reef called Karang Luas (30nm from Pekan) without watching/ carrying GPS.  He's also an expert in weather prediction.  We feel in very safe hands when we go out to the sea with him.

He's now operating his own boat, parked at Pekan, Pahang. 

Boat spec:  30 footer 7feet width, 140HP 4stroke complete with live bait well and popping area at the front.
