Enquiries: Treble Hooks for GT Popping

Got few enquiry on what / which trebles i used for GT popping.....will answer soon...

Currently i am using 4 brands i.e. Katsuichi Decoy, Gamakatsu GT Recorder, Vanfook Blue Takumi treble hook and Cultiva Owner.

During old days the only hooks that made available to me is only Cultiva Owner which landed me a lot of fish.
Nowdays rarely i use Cultiva Owner for big game popping.

From my experience, Katsuichi Decoy, Gamakatsu GT Recorder, Vanfook Blue Takumi hook points and gap protects my lures much batter. I mean less hook mark on those "hard-to-get" lures.

Arguments on which brand of treble hooks is the best for GT popping, i will leave it open.

Katsuichi Decoy GT Special and Saltwater Big

Gamakatsu GT Recorder

Vanfook Blue Takumi

Cultiva Owner ST-66 and ST-76
As we aware some lure company did provide list of preferably hook type and size to be used on  their lures. Lures such as stick bait is more 'hook-sensitive" than popper.
Below is just examples, please refer to the appropriate official website for detail list.

Q1 2016: Acquisition II

Got chance to acquire few Patriot Design lures.

Patriot Design World combat 130
Length:  185 mm
Weight:  130-140g
Hook size:  11gram = Decoy 6/0; Takumi 5/0, GTR 5/0, ST-66 5/0
My Rod: to be tested/paired
Technique: short touch regular popping, aware of line slag and don’t keep it tight then you can produce big bubbles, big sound and maintain the lures position within the bubbles making it a supremely effective lure.

Bubbles producer

Patriot Design MASTERD BOMB jr, 155
Length:  170 mm
Weight:  155g
Hook size:  15gram = Decoy 8/0; GTR 7/0
My Rod: to be tested/paired

Patriot Design FATPAT  《A-Quick》 295-180
Length:  295 mm
Weight:  180g
Hook size:  15gram = Decoy 10/0; GTR 8/0
My Rod: to be tested/paired
Technique: Be conscious of line slack when jerking. If there is too much slack then both the bubble production and under water flashing action will be impaired.  Slow tempo twitching action is not recommended. Instead it is continual jerking action is employed. If you remove the rear hook & depend on only the front hook, the trembling and flashing actions can be intensified.

Copied from other website
quote "Having undergone a series of testing and improvements, the new Carpenter lure “MAIHIME” appears and swims just like real fish, that they cannot even figure out if the lure is a real fish or not.Its action on the water is almost the same as Gamma, but this lure works better if you give it a shorter reel winding intervals. This lure might not be the best for the rough wave condition, as Bluefish and Gamma could be better for that condition." end quote.
